How early should I arrive for my first appointment?
We ask that you arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to complete our registration forms.
What should I bring with me for my first appointment?
Please bring your written referral from your physician if you have one and any billing/insurance information. We will copy all insurance cards.
If your injury is work or motor vehicle related, please bring claim and phone numbers, as well as, case manager and adjuster names. You may want to bring some comfortable clothing for the evaluation. However, we have some if you don’t bring them.
How do I know if my insurance will cover physical therapy?
Most major insurance do provide for physical therapy services. However, it is in your best interest to call your insurance company before you start therapy as we cannot guarantee coverage. Copays are expected to be paid at the time of service.
Referrals may be required by your physician. You need to make sure that this is done if your insurance requires it. We will make sure that the proper physical therapy authorization is completed and submitted.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
You will meet one on one with a licensed physical therapist. Your physical therapist will evaluate your injury by reviewing your history and medications, and performing a complete set of tests and measures. You will then be started on a treatment program individually tailored to you and your injury. You should expect that this first appointment will take approximately one hour. You will be scheduled for future visits after your therapist has discussed his or her findings with you.
